I had the opportunity to photograph my brother and his girlfriend who is visiting from Canada the other day, in one of my most favorite places. It was snowy and foggy and quiet and everything I could wish for in a winter shoot. We braved the slippery snow capped boulders and ice to explore the most beautiful waterfall of icicles. It reminded me once again of my love for winter and how thankful I am to live somewhere with all four seasons-- that I get the opportunity to go out and photograph love under falling snowflakes and explore the deepest parts of magnificent far off forests, and see the earths beauty in a way that is only temporary, and come home with rosy cheeks and frosty toes to curl up under blankets with a cup of hot cocoa. So many people say they hate winter... I don't think they're doing it right.
